Focas
Hello! I have left Bariloche and now I am back in Chile! The rest of my time in Bariloche was nice, very chill. I worked all week and tried to make it outside when possible. I was really close to this water access spot and so I went down there and read and journaled which was nice. My goal for February is to read every day this month and so far, it has been going well!
I left Bariloche on Friday and took a really nice bus to Chile. For the majority of the drive, I didn't have anyone sitting next to me, so I got to stretch out. And this bus was so nice because the chairs reclined a lot and there was this cushion that you could fold out from the seat in front of you and that became a leg rest. It was very nice. The bus ride was about 7 hours, so I didn't arrive to Valdivia until 9:30pm and it was starting to get dark. I walked to my Airbnb and pretty much passed out.
Saturday was a day of exploring the area. I walked along the water and got to see some seals (focas en EspaƱol)! I also walked through a couple of different markets, and I bought a skewer of chocolate covered strawberries that was really tasty. Today, Sunday, I spent the morning doing my taxes. So exciting! Not! Then this afternoon I walked to an island that connected to the mainland by a bridge and just explored around there for a bit before I walked back to watch a music performance. I think today was the celebration of the founding of Valdivia so there was a music group called Los Vasquez that was performing. There were tons of street vendors selling food and goods and it was fun to see all of that. I didn't stay for too long because I wanted to head back to make dinner. I really like the city that I'm in and I'm glad to be here. This week is another one full of work, but I will get out to hang out by the water during the week.
