Last week before Christmas Break!

Hello! I am getting excited because it is just about Christmas break! I will have two weeks off from work and I am going to Nicaragua. It's kind of a last-minute decision to go to Nicaragua because I was hoping to be volunteering during my break but that didn't work out. I could not find a place to host me. But I think this is going to work out really well because now I get to explore a new country in a more cost-effective way than I have been exploring Costa Rica. Nicaragua is cheaper than Costa Rica and I am mostly going to be staying in hostels which will save me money as well. I am planning to go to several towns through the Pacific side of Nicaragua and I am going to spend some time on Lake Nicaragua which will be cool. I made the decision to do a homestay and a Spanish school for the week that has New Years in it. I think this will be really good for me to do 20 hours of Spanish instruction and to get to stay with a family to see what that experience is like. I will be in Nicaragua until Reese comes to Costa Rica so it will end up being about 2.5 weeks because I will teach for a few days while in Nicaragua. I am very excited!
After Nicaragua, I will come back to Costa Rica and then Reese and I will travel together for a week. I am really looking forward to seeing him and getting to share Costa Rica with him. Also, side note, Reese just finished his semester at college, and he did so well with his final grades! He ended with all A's. He starting using a planner and I think he owes the grades to organization. I am so proud of him for starting to find what works for him! Anywho, when Reese leaves Costa Rica I will also leave Costa Rica and go to Argentina. I will be in Buenos Aires for an afternoon and then I head down to the Patagonia. I cannot even believe that is my reality, but I am so excited. Then I'll be in Chile for the next couple of months.
Coming back to the present, I really like Samara. It is a super chill town, and I have been walking to the beach for sunset every night that I can. My German friend came last week, and we spent a couple of days hanging out and exploring. We went out for drinks and saw a fire performer guy and we also hiked to a secluded beach. We also went out for lunch, and I got chalupas which I hadn't tried before. That is what the food picture is. It was really nice to see her again. I also applied to start working with the reading portion of one of the companies that I already work for, and I got approved! This means that I am going to be getting more work next semester which is going to be a really good thing for me. Hopefully I will blog again soon, if not, know that I am having fun!

  1. Hello dear one! It's been a while since I've responded, but I'm really enjoying your blogs! I just read about the tsunami in Peru and wondered if that will affect your plans. I hope you had a good Christmas and can't wait to hear more of your adventures! Meanwhile, keep on keepin' on! :)
